Anita Bunn lives and works in Los Angeles, California. She earned a BA in Fine Art from Trinity University, a BFA in Photography from Art Center College of Design, and an MFA in Photography from Claremont Graduate University. Her work is an investigation into the act of noticing, of turning away from spectacle and the obvious towards that which we tend to overlook. Large photographs on panel are formal abstractions of representational objects, wherein fragments of tree and sky reveal an unfamiliarity with the familiar as well as how objects negotiate a shared space. Other works, in which she uses various processes of photomechanical reproduction and real time digital video, explore an interest in the subtle shifts in perception that occur over time and through repetition, allowing for different ways of looking at an object and crystallizing the complexity and nuance that exist within a seemingly simple construct.

Anita is the recipient of numerous awards, including the 2009 Joe Sonneman Prize in Photography. Her work is in many public and private collections and has been exhibited both nationally and internationally. She is currently an Adjunct Instructor of Photography at the University of La Verne and an Adjunct Instructor of Digital Imaging at Los Angeles Mission College Institute of Arts and Multimedia.
